About the Charlotte Chess Center
The Charlotte Chess Center (CCC) is one of the nation’s leading chess institutions, dedicated to growing the game at every level across the Carolinas. Through year-round competitive events, instructional programs, scholastic outreach, and national-level tournaments, CCC serves players from kindergarten through adult.
CCC regularly hosts premier events that draw hundreds of students statewide and produce competitors who advance to national invitationals. The Center fosters excellence in chess through structured curriculum, master-level coaching, and community partnerships—engaging schools, families, and players of all ages.

Summer Camps
Chess is Where STEM and Art Meet
At CCC’s camps, your child will explore creativity and critical thinking through the game of chess, discovering the nearly infinite possibilities each position presents. Programs are thoughtfully designed to balance logic, imagination, and structured learning.
Families can explore a variety of camp options to find the experience that best fits their child’s interests and needs.
These chess camps are designed for beginners through advanced tournament players. Camps and classes welcome young players from Ballantyne, Matthews, Pineville, Huntersville, Cornelius, Concord, Fort Mill, Harrisburg, Waxhaw, and surrounding areas.
CCC’s summer, holiday, and school-break camps combine:

Whether your child is learning the basics or preparing for competitive chess, these camps provide a rewarding and educational experience. Weekly Full Day and Half Day options are available.
